Center Theatre seeks group to park cars for $1,000 at Maine Whoopie Pie Festival

DOVER-FOXCROFT – The Center Theatre announced that it is looking for an area group or organization to park cars at the 2026 Maine Whoopie Pie Festival. The theatre, an organizer of the festival, estimates the group will need approximately 15 people, mostly adults, over the course of the Saturday, June 13 event. In return the Center Theatre will make a $1,000 donation to the group in gratitude for their support of the sweetest day in Maine.

“Last year was our first year at the Piscataquis Valley Fairgrounds and the first year we had over 10,000 attendees,” said Patrick Myers, Center Theatre executive director. “We simply did not have enough people to park cars and that led to the large traffic backups around town. This year, we need all the help we can get, especially with the closure of the Essex Street bridge complicating traffic flow in town.”

Myers said the theatre has been in conversation with the Dover-Foxcroft police and fire departments since the 2025 festival to ensure that the 2026 event is less disruptive for the town.

Any group interested in partnering with the Center Theatre at the festival should contact Myers at the theatre by calling 207-564-8946 or emailing pmyers@centertheatre.org.

The Maine Whoopie Pie Festival is the largest annual fundraiser for the Center Theatre for the Performing arts and supports its mission to engage and inspire by making arts, education and entertainment accessible to our rural communities. This year sees the 20th anniversary of the Center Theatre reopening the doors to its historic theater in downtown Dover-Foxcroft.
