Dexter wrestling finishes 10th at Class B championship

LINCOLN — The Dexter Regional High School wrestling team finished in 10th place at the 2026 Class B championship on Feb. 14 at Mattanawcook Academy. The Tigers ended the day with a score of 38.5 points, the 10th most among 29 schools.

Damiair Miller led Dexter by reaching the championship finals of the 165-pound weight class, finishing second to Leighton Waite of Dirigo High School of Dixfield.

The Tigers’ Memphis Cole came in fourth at 106 pounds.

Foxcroft Academy finished 23rd in the team standings with 10 points.

The Ponies’ Giorgi Tskrialashvili placed fourth at 132 pounds.

PCHS was 26th at the state championship with a score of three points.

Dirigo won the team title with 108.5 points, ahead of the 86.5 points for runner-up Winslow High School and 76.5 points for third-place Mountain Valley High School of Rumford.

The championship is the first for Dirigo since winning consecutive Class C crowns in 2015 and 2014 when Maine had three different wrestling classes. The Cougars had won six Class C championships before the first in Class B this year.
