Congress needs to stop Donald Trump

To the Editor;

We need to stop “Donald the Conqueror.” We need a leader, not a ruler. I believe our homeland security is in serious jeopardy due to the arrogant, unlawful, maniacal actions of President Donald Trump. Shame on him and shame on our Congress for letting this happen.

Return Nicolas Maduro and his wife with profound apologies and reparations. Serious apologies to Nicaragua, Gaza, Greenland, Denmark, Canada and the rest of the world are also called for. 

On the home front, Trump’s deployment of ICE agents and military forces in various cities and states looks to be, among other things, an attempt to ramp up unrest and enough resistance to justify calling for martial law and cancelling the midterm elections. 

I believe there is ample evidence for impeachment now, but currently serving Republicans may be nervous. Cancelling the midterms would also serve them well. I recall a bit on one of the old folk albums about a disgruntled citizen who asks: “Should I write a letter to my congressman?” The response follows: “Each congressman has two ends; a sitting and a thinking end. And since his whole success depends upon his seat, why bother, friend?” 

Stand up Congress. We need your courage now!
