Three local athletes win four events at indoor track meet
ORONO — The Foxcroft Academy and Penquis Valley High School indoor track and field teams opened the 2025-26 Penobscot Valley Conference-Eastern Maine Indoor Track League season during a meet on the morning of Saturday, Dec. 6 at the University of Maine’s New Balance Field House.
The Foxcroft girls scored 14 points to finish eighth among nine teams.
Pony junior Jasmine Hall earned top honors in the shot put. Hall had a distance of 32 feet, 0.5 inches, 1.5 inches further than the 31-11 for Brewer High School senior Madison Randall.
Freshman Olivia Mishio ran a time of 2 minutes, 50.8 seconds to come in fourth in the 800.
In the boys meet, Penquis and Foxcroft tied for eighth place among nine schools with 20 points each.
Penquis senior Jareth Williams won both the 55- and 200-meter events.
In the 55-meter finals Williams ran a time of 7.02 seconds, just ahead of the 7.05 seconds for Bangor High School senior Jordan Pettway.
Williams had the meet’s best 200-meter time at 25.40 seconds, ahead of the 25.55 seconds for runner-up George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill junior Wyatt Richardson.
Foxcroft senior Conner Donahue earned first-place honors in the long jump with his leap measuring 20-08.75, more than 11 inches beyond the 19-09.5 for George Stevens junior Reece Renwick.
Donahue also finished third in the triple jump with his distance of 37-09.
Junior Noah Ferioli came in fourth in the 2-mile with his time of 11:47.54.
