Theatre announces ‘Pay-What-You-Can’ dress rehearsal for ‘A Christmas Carol’
DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Center Theatre for the Performing Arts has announced a special “Pay-What-You-Can” dress rehearsal performance of its holiday production of Charles Dickens’ classic, “A Christmas Carol”. This special preview performance begins at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11.
The “Pay-What-You-Can” event allows community members to see the highly anticipated show before its official opening night on Dec. 12, while supporting the theatre’s mission. The production, performed by the talented Slightly Off-Center Players and adapted and directed by Emma Hansen, promises to bring the powerful message of redemption and the true spirit of Christmas to life.
Center Theatre Executive Director Patrick Myers emphasized the importance of making the arts accessible.
“We’re all excited about opening night of ‘Christmas Carol’ on Dec. 12, but thrilled that with the support of The Mill Cafe, Lary Funeral Home, Piscataquis Monumental Co. and Maine Highlands Federal Credit Union we can offer this pay-what-you-can dress rehearsal so as many people as possible can see this great holiday production,” he said. “We’re also happy that The Mill Cafe is opening on Dec. 11 for a special Christmas dinner, but seating is limited so advance reservations are probably a good idea.”
General admission ticket prices for the main run are $16 at the door, $14 in advance, $12 for theatre members, and $8 for ages 12 and under. Tickets for the show and general seating for the “Pay-What-You-Can” dress rehearsal can be purchased online at CenterTheatre.org, by calling the box office at 207-564-8943 or by visiting in person at 20 East Main St.
The Center Theatre is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a mission to engage and inspire by making arts, education and entertainment accessible to our rural communities.
