Seasons end for Dexter, FA football
The seasons ended for both the Dexter Regional High School and Foxcroft Academy football teams on Friday night, Nov. 7
The third-seeded Tigers traveled to Millinocket to face No. 1 Stearns High School in the 8-man Small School North championship. The host Minutemen (8-2) won 64-8 to claim the regional title over Dexter (who ends the season at 6-4).
Stearns is scheduled to face South champion Old Orchard Beach High School (9-0) for the gold ball on Saturday, Nov. 15 at Edward Little High School in Auburn. The game will be a rematch of the 2024 championship, a 60-14 Old Orchard Beach victory.
The two programs met in the regular season with the Seagulls departing Millinocket with a 34-20 victory on Sept. 19.
Seventh seeded Foxcroft Academy traveled to Turner to face No. 2 Leavitt Area High School in a Class C quarterfinal. The host Hornets won 34-3 to improve to 7-2 and end the Ponies’ season at 6-4 (the two programs did not meet in the regular season).
Leavitt is set to host third seed Hermon High School (8-1) in a semifinal this upcoming weekend.
