Joan Kennedy headlines free concert at Center Theatre
DOVER-FOXCROFT – The Center Theatre for the Performing Arts is hosting acclaimed Canadian songstress Joan Kennedy for a free concert on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 3 p.m. Kennedy will be performing as part of the Bangor Savings Bank Free Community Concert Series.
“We’re definitely looking forward to Joan’s concert,” said Center Theatre Executive Director Patrick Myers. “She’s been nominated for just about every award in Canada and this will be her first show at the Center Theatre. We can’t thank Bangor Savings Bank enough for the opportunity.”
Kennedy has recorded six albums, toured Canada, the USA and Europe, starred in a 2-season television series, and was second to only Garth Brooks as Canadian Country Music Radio’s most played artist. She plays classic country to southern rock and pop, a mix of original and cover songs.
Other concerts in the Bangor Savings Bank Free Community Concert Series include: Erica Brown and Matt Shipman’s band Darlin’ Corey on Oct. 25; and the award-winning multinational girl’s chorus Pihcintu will return to the Center Theatre for their second performance on Nov. 22, this time accompanied by Barundi band, Akiwacu. All concerts will be free to the public and will begin at 3 p.m.
While these free concerts are free to the public, seating is limited so the Center Theatre suggests going online to CenterTheatre.org or calling the theatre at 207-564-8943 to reserve your tickets ahead of time.
