The Living Word Food Cupboard in Dover-Foxcroft served its last distribution on March 27, following a brief celebration to recognize the volunteers who have helped to feed those in need (below). Above, Pastor Tom Bruce of the Living Word Assembly of God, who headed the food cupboard, cuts into a cake with the assistance of Rev. Chad Poland of the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church. Rev. Poland is part a group of community members, organizations, churches and businesses who have created the Dover-Foxcroft Area Food Cupboard. The new food cupboard (more information can be found at www.facebook.com/DFAreaFoodCupboard) will work to fill the void, distributing food at current West Main Street location in April and then at the Piscataquis County Fairgrounds through the summer as a permanent home is developed.
