Strout named a Mr. Baseball finalist

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Maine Baseball Coaches Association has announced the 10 finalists for the 2025 Dr. John Winkin “Mr. Baseball” Award, and among the honorees is Foxcroft Academy senior Hayden Strout.

According to an announcement on the Foxcroft Academy Facebook page, Strout had a fantastic regular season by batting .500 with 22 hits, 19 stolen bases and only three strikeouts. He was 7-0 on the mound with a 2.35 ERA, striking out 79 opponents while allowing just 23 walks. 

The winner of Mr. Baseball will be announced on Tuesday, June 24 at the Maine Senior Ed Flaherty Classic All-Star Games at St. Joseph’s College in Standish.

The 10 finalists represent Classes A, D, C and D. The other nine are Cole Payne, Bangor Christian; Tyler Simmons, Falmouth; Keeler Vogt, Greely; Wyatt Nadeau, Gorham; Finn Knowles, Lee Academy; Xavier Estes, Madison; Kaysen Wildman, Hampden Academy; Kenny Mecham, Richmond; and Erik Swenson, Scarborough.
