Take the dagger out
To the Editor;
The beauty of Acadia National Park and Maine’s coastline always moves me. It’s a religious experience! But recently, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin apparently said in a press release, “We are driving a dagger straight into the heart of the climate change religion to drive down cost of living for American families, unleash American energy, bring auto jobs back to the U.S. and more.” The plan is to push back possibly over 30 regulations that impact air quality in Maine.
The clouds that we sometimes see around Cadillac Mountain are not the same kind of cloud that floated around Mount Sinai. It is smog, pollution, bad air, contributing to asthma and poisoning our waters. In fact, I have heard it said that, because of air currents that converge over Maine, we are the tailpipe of the country.
Dear senators and representatives of the people of Maine, please take the dagger out of the heart of our beautiful state and protect our people and Maine’s environmental quality by standing firm against the administration’s religious zeal. Don’t let them kill the environmental policies that protect us!
