Sebasticook Valley FCU to host paintball tournament to support Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger

GUILFORD — Sebasticook Valley Federal Credit Union will be hosting a paintball tournament on Saturday, May 31 at Flying Dutchman Paintball in Guilford. All proceeds benefit the Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger, a statewide initiative that has contributed more than $14.9 million since 1990 — over $1.3 million in 2024 alone — to food banks, school backpack programs, meal sites and other organizations feeding Mainers in need. Every dollar raised goes directly to hunger-relief efforts in Maine. The event is open to the public.

“The fun of paintball while raising money for a worthwhile cause of helping end hunger in Maine is a rewarding way to spend your Saturday,” said Jim Lemieux, president of Sebasticook Valley FCU. “We’re excited to rally teammates, sponsors and spectators for a day that will put nutritious food on tables across our region.”

Teams of four can register for $400, and businesses or individuals may choose from three sponsorship levels: Target Sponsor ($100), Basecamp Sponsor ($300) or Corporate Sponsor ($500). Included with the registration are players’ field fee, all rental equipment, protective neck covering, 100 paintballs (per player) and dinner. Participants must be 18 or older.

To secure a spot, participants must complete the online registration form and return it by May 30 to eallen@svfcume.com or by mail to Sebasticook Valley FCU, Attn: Erica Allen, P.O. Box 10, Pittsfield, ME 04967. Checks will be collected at check-in on the morning of the event. Players should arrive by 11 a.m. for safety briefings and equipment assignments.
