FA’s Donahue takes top honors in three events

OLD TOWN — Three of the area’s outdoor track & field teams concluded the 2025 regular season with a Penobscot Valley Conference meet at Old Town High School on May 24. The Foxcroft Academy boys scored 72.5 points to end the day in fourth place among nine schools.

Conner Donahue led the Ponies with three first-place finishes. Donahue had the day’s best time at 100 meters as he won the event in 11.67 seconds. He was well ahead of the 12.06 seconds for runner-up Nathan Cullna or Orono High School.

Donahue came in first in the long jump with his leap of 20 feet, 7 inches. He was about a foot ahead of the 19-07.50 for Ethan Riley of Orono.

The Foxcroft 4×100 relay team placed first as Sebastian Guman, Aiden Bryant, Joesph Knapp and Donahue combined for a time of 47.51 seconds, more than a half second faster than the 48.10 seconds for the host school.

Bryant finished second in the 110 hurdles in 19.02 seconds. He was also third in the 300 hurdles at 49.79 seconds.

Runner Jarrett came in third in the 3,200 with his time of 10:59.89.

In the shot put, Jaxson Zimmerman was third with his throw of 41-08.75. Chhoterith Tycheatvisoth was fifth at 38-02.7.

Guman and Birungi came in fourth and sixth in the 200 with respective times of 25.72 and 25.93 seconds.

Ethen Eakright had a fifth-place performance in the 1,600 at 5:28.50. He also was sixth in the javelin at 103-08.

Akram Nkwanzi Qays tied with Hunter Stoup of Old Town for fifth place in the high jump as each cleared 5-00. Nkwanzi Qays was also fifth in the long jump at 16-06.50 with Birguni in sixth place at 16-05.50.

Knapp had a fifth-place finish in the 100 at 12.39 seconds.

The Dexter Regional High School boys picked up 62 points in Old Town to come in fifth in the team standings.

Brady Jerome had the meet’s top shot put throw at 43-04.75, more than 2 feet further than the 43-01 for Orono’s Brady Grant. Jerome also was second in the discus at 120-02.

Bryce Cooper and Damiair Miller came in second and third in the high jump at respective heights of 5-04 and 5-02.

Miller finished second in the triple jump with his leap of 39-08.75. 

He and Cooper were part of the third-place 4×100 relay as Cooper, Bodhi Langlais, Miller and Tristan Hopkins-Watrous ran a time of 48.55 seconds.

Hopkins-Watrous came in third in the 110 hurdles at 21.25 seconds and fourth in the 100 at 12.13 seconds.

Ezekiel Bermudez placed fourth in the 1,600 with his time of 5:23.39.

Tanner Ladd finished sixth in both the shot put and javelin at 35-08.75 and 100-01.

Piscataquis Community High School had 11 points to place eighth among boys teams.

Noah Kain led the Pirates with his second-place javelin throw of 135-05.

In the 300 hurdles Phoenix Brown and Chase Kilian were fifth and sixth with respective times of 53.32 seconds and 54.40 seconds.

In the girls’ meet, PCHS scored 40 points to come in fourth among eight schools.

Ava Edes had a pair of second-place performances for the Pirates. Edes was second in the 300 hurdles with her time of 57.37 seconds and she was also second in the high jump at 4-10.

Judith Jannsen finished second in the 400 in 1:06.74. She also placed third in the triple jump at a distance measuring 31-03.25.

Sadie Kelley came in third in the 1,600 racewalk with her time of 9:19.79.

Olivia Goodwin and Molly Goodwin were fifth and sixth in the javelin standings at 81-08 and 77-11.

Ella Zeller added a sixth-place shot put throw of 25-05.25.

The Foxcroft girls came in sixth in the standings with 38 points.

Gabriella Licata had the Ponies’ highest finish by placing second in the 110 hurdles at 20.73 seconds.

Jasmine Hall came in third in both the shot put and javelin with throws of 31-07.25 and 91-05.

The Pony 4×400 relay was third at 4:49.87, made up of Lexi Bjornson, Marion Dietz, Alexis Heretakis and Nina Huber.

Individually, Heretakis placed fourth in the long jump at 15-01.50 and fifth in the 100 at 13.69 seconds. She ran the third leg of the fourth-place 4×100 relay as Bjornson, Zoey Eakright, Heretakis and Violet Chai covered the lap in exactly 57 seconds.

Huber was also fifth in the 800 in 2:45.71.

The girls from Dexter came in sixth with a score of 25 points.

Jazmin Channon led the Tigers with a second-place 100-meter sprint of 13.53 seconds. She anchored the third-place 4×100 relay with Sunny Bache, Jemma Bullock, Asani Miller and Channon combining for a time of 55.37 seconds. Channon was also sixth in the 200 at 28.83 seconds.

Bache finished third in the high jump at 4-08.

Ella McClintook-Hatch placed fourth in the 800 in a time of 2:43.12.
