
FA’s Donahue wins three events
BREWER — The Foxcroft Academy boys outdoor track & field team scored 83 points to finish fourth among seven schools during a Penobscot Valley Conference meet at the Brewer Community School on Monday.
Pony junior Conner Donahue won a pair of individual events and anchored a winning relay, as well as running the final leg of a third-place relay.
Donahue had the day’s fastest time in the 100 at 11.84 seconds, just ahead of the 11.90 seconds for runner-up Brewer High School junior Isaac Johnson. Donahue won the long jump at a distance of 20 feet 11, inches, over nine inches more than Orono High School sophomore Richie Watson.
Foxcroft’s 4×100 relay team finished in first place. Juniors Sebastian Guman, Aiden Bryant and Landon Smith and Donahue combined for a time of 47.21 seconds.
The Pony 4×400 — made up of freshman Nicholas McCorrison, junior Hawken Hall, sophomore Joseph Knapp and Donahue — was third in 3:48.35.
Bryant placed in the top three in both hurdles races. He came in second at 300 meters in 44.49 seconds and was third in the 110 high hurdles at 19.10 seconds.
Senior Jaxson Zimmerman finished as the shot put runner-up with a throw of 41-00.50. Senior Chhoterith Tycheatvisoth was fifth in the event at 36-10.
Sophomore Pace Jarrett ran a to third-place performance in the 3,200 in 11:47.39. Junior Akrann Nkwanzi was third in the high jump at 5-06.
Foxcroft had fourth- and fifth-place 200-meter finishers in senior Shane Birungi and Guman at 25.57 and 25.59 seconds respectively.
Knapp came in fifth in the 1,600 at 5:07.31 while Smith was fifth in the triple jump at 37-10. Hall was part of a three-way tie for fifth in the pole vault at 8-00.
The Foxcroft girls picked up a score of 34 points to come in fifth among six teams.
Senior Alexis Heretakis won the long jump at a distance of 15-07.50. She jumped over six inches more than the 15-01.25 by runner-up Bucksport High School senior Ruby Pereira.
Heretaksi also came in second in the 200 at 28.32 seconds and third in the 100 at 13.83 seconds.
She anchored the fourth-place 4×400 relay joining freshman Lexi Bjornson, sophomore Marion Deitz and junior Nina Huber for a time of 4:48.57. Heretakis had a hand in 28 of the 34 Pony points.
Huber finished fourth in the 800 with her time of 2:45.31.
Deitz had a fifth-place finish in the 300 hurdles at 56.03 seconds.
