Northern Light Health gets $49M payback for pandemic care

By Ethan Andrews, Bangor Daily News Staff

Northern Light Health will get $49 million in delayed reimbursement for its COVID-19 pandemic response, U.S. Sen. Susan Collins’ office announced on May 2.

The Brewer-based health care system was among those that faced significant delays in receiving Federal Emergency Management Agency disaster relief funding after the pandemic, Collins’ office said.

Collins’ office said that funding has now been released but did not immediately provide additional information.

Northern Light Health has 10 member hospitals, eight nursing homes and 37 primary care locations and employs more than 10,000 people in Maine, according to its website.
