
Piscataquis Earth Day river trip and celebration
Join a group to enjoy the Piscataquis River on Tuesday, April 22, starting at 11:30 a.m. at Cummings Park in Guilford. The group will paddle to Foxcroft Academy where it will take out and gather in the Student Center for hot chocolate and a short movie.
Who: Anyone with basic moving water paddling skills and gear, or join us just for the celebration!
What: Paddle the river along the Piscataquis River race course followed by an Earth Day gathering with hot chocolate, light snacks and showing of the movie “Common Ground”.
When: Earth Day, Tuesday April 22. 11:30 a.m. boat launch; followed by social hour when we finish paddling approximately 2-4 p.m.

Where: Start at Cummings Park in Guilford. A short 3-mile flatwater course takeout at Lowe’s Bridge; long 7-mile course with some class 2 white water take out at Foxcroft Academy. Gather following the trip in the Foxcroft Academy Student Center
Why: Celebrate Earth Day with a day on the river and relax over hot chocolate and Earth Day conversation.
Sign waiver at put-in
Bring your own bag lunch, boats, paddles and personal flotation devices, with helmets encouraged for kayakers below Lowe’s Bridge
Paddlers are encouraged to arrange their own shuttle and help each other with rides to the top, but there will also be two dedicated small shuttle vehicles.
FYI, PACC has a few kayaks and canoes for loan
Participating community groups will have educational and promotional materials at the student center.
