Penobscot Valley Conference basketball honors

Basketball players from across the region were recently honored by the Penobscot Valley Conference for their performance during the 2024-25 season.

The boys Class C Second Team includes Bryce Cooper of Dexter Regional High School and Brady Gaw of Piscataquis Community High School. 

Dexter’s Ethan Doherty is a Third Team selection.

Matt Bartlett of Dexter and Mattanawcook Academy’s Adam Mahaney shared Class C Coach of the Year honors.

The girls Class C Second Team includes Abilene Corson of Dexter.

Dexter’s Desiree Adams and Kayleigh Dunton are both Third Team honorees.

Honorable mention players include Brooklyn Decker of Penquis Valley High School and Ava Goulette of PCHS.

Liam Mason of Greenville High School was named to the boys Class D First Team.

Area PVC All-Defensive players are Cooper, Gaw, Ocean Turner of Greenville, and Caiden Fowles of Penquis; and Corson, Haley Ferland of Greenville, Penquis’ Kalea Gahagan, and Reese Starbird of Penquis.

Spirit of the Game recognition was bestowed upon Cole Doherty of Dexter, Parker Polland of Greenville, Brayden Hobbs of Penquis and Noah Kain of PCHS; and Annabelle Peakes of Dexter, Ferland, Adalai Perkins of Penquis and Hope Hunt of PCHS.

All-Academic student-athletes include Dexter’s Cole Doherty, Ethan Doherty and Jason Bowden, Calvin Landry of Foxcroft Academy, Brenan Grant of Penquis and Gavyn Gilbert of PCHS; and Corson and Dunton, Alexis Heretakis and Madyson Kimball of Foxcroft Academy and Rylee Heal of Penquis.
