Maine Whoopie Pie Festival moving to Piscataquis Valley Fairgrounds
DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Center Theatre and the Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce announced that the 2025 Maine Whoopie Pie Festival will take place on Saturday, June 14. For the first time in its 16-year history, the Festival will be held at the Piscataquis Valley Fairgrounds instead of downtown Dover-Foxcroft. The Festival, and its lead sponsor Shaw’s Supermarkets, celebrates the taste of Maine’s Official State Treat, the whoopie pie. The Festival is the largest one-day event in Piscataquis County and will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with artists, crafters, vendors, live music, games, and activities for kids, dozens of bakers, and tens of thousands of whoopie pies.

CHANGE OF VENUE — The Maine Whoopie Pie Festival will be relocating to the Piscataquis Valley Fairgrounds this year. The date of the Festival will be Saturday, June 14. More information and advance tickets and tokens can be found at www.MaineWhoopiePieFestval.com.
While the Festival has traditionally been held in downtown Dover-Foxcroft, Patrick Myers, the Center Theatre’s executive director and Festival organizer, said that construction downtown made it necessary to move the Festival this summer. “The main intersection downtown is getting torn up this spring and a water main is getting replaced at the same time. There’s no guarantee that the work will be done by June 14, so we felt the safest thing to do was to relocate the Festival.”
Myers also said that moving the Festival to the fairgrounds has been a topic of conversation for years, “There are many advantages to having the Festival out at the fairgrounds. We’ve resisted it because we enjoy promoting downtown Dover-Foxcroft, but having the Festival at the fairgrounds will make setup and breakdown much easier and should provide a better experience for festival goers.”
This year’s festival will feature a variety of whoopie pie vendors, food trucks, live music, family-friendly activities, live music, and whoopie pie eating contests. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample hundreds of different flavors and styles of whoopie pies, from classic chocolate to unique and innovative creations.
Registration for bakers and vendors is now open at www.MaineWhoopiePieFestival.com. The Festival admission will be the same as in years past, $6 for the public with kids 12 and under getting in free. For more information go to www.MaineWhoopiePieFestival.com. The Festival is the largest annual fundraiser for the Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce and the Center Theatre for the Performing Arts and supports the Theatre’s mission to engage and inspire by making art, education, and entertainment accessible to our rural communities.
