TrailIntel, GPS Trailmasters enter strategic partnership for outdoor rec trail mapping

STRONG — Veteran outdoor sporting platform and mapping software, GPS Trailmasters, and the industry’s first vertically integrated outdoor technology platform, TrailIntel, announce they’ve entered into a strategic partnership to unveil a revolutionary new plan to impact the outdoor lifestyle experience. Combining the strengths and visions of both companies, they will forge a new path under the unified name TrailIntel, with the goal of becoming the industry’s leading technology platform for outdoor overland recreation. The company is currently focused on the Northeastern United States, with plans to expand nationwide by mid-2026.

Founded in 2010, GPS Trailmasters is an industry pioneer in electronic trail mapping technology solutions in the eastern United States, and has been at the forefront of the industry for the last several years. The synergy of this proprietary technology, combined with the industry-first components within TrailIntel, will offer a superior solution to users over current market offerings, combined with best-in-class service and support.

TrailIntel’s mission is to offer the most complete and easy solution for riders, clubs, and supporting businesses, as well as other components crucial to the sport, by providing real-time, more accurate information to both riders and sponsoring clubs. This will enhance community engagement and improve internal operations for club management.

“The integration of GPS Trailmasters and TrailIntel marks a pivotal moment in outdoor sporting technology,” said Brian Gavin, chief product officer and co-founder of TrailIntel. “Our platform introduces a cutting-edge experience for both riders and sporting clubs. It closes the information gap and dramatically expands how users interact with their communities. By integrating real-time trail conditions, grooming schedules, group communication features, and a comprehensive club management toolset, TrailIntel truly captures the entire outdoor experience.”

TrailIntel is debuting at the height of the winter season, when outdoor sports enthusiasts are embarking on winter recreation excursions. The company’s proprietary software offers a robust lineup of unmatched experiences, paired with the highest level of service, to deliver a trusted and reliable experience for riders and clubs. Highlight capabilities include:

All-In-One Platform: All outdoor recreation needs, from live trail updates to club management.

Seamless user experience: Intuitive design for easy access and usability for all.

Innovative approach to established sports: Pioneering the future of outdoor recreation by addressing the significant gap in information access for clubs and riders.

Strong community focus: Facilitating seamless connections between clubs, riders, and local businesses.

Enhanced safety features: Intelligent mapping and communication tools to ensure riders always make it home safely.

A key initiative of TrailIntel is that a portion of rider subscription costs will go directly back to the clubs and entities that support outdoor sports.

GPS Trailmasters’ Eric Murphy will join the new company in an executive role as chief geospatial officer, continuing to develop comprehensive and accurate trail maps, with a focus on expanding to all 50 states.
