Northern Light Mayo Hospital recognizes True North Award recipients
DOVER-FOXCROFT — Northern Light Mayo Hospital is proud to announce the recipients of its True North Trailblazer awards, an annual recognition that honors employees who exemplify a profound and impactful dedication to their patients and our community hospital.
“We’re proud to celebrate our True North Trailblazer honorees for their commitment to improving healthcare for our patients and community,” says Marie Vienneau, FACHE, president, Northern Light CA Dean and Mayo Hospitals. “They consistently go above and beyond for their patients, support their co-workers, and make the hospital a better place for everyone. They set a very high standard for all to follow.”
Mayo Hospital congratulates its True North Trailblazer honorees:
Mammography team, Constellation Trailblazer Award
The mammography team at Northern Light CA Dean and Mayo Hospitals has worked collaboratively to launch our highly successful, first-in-Maine mobile mammography service. While reaching more patients in more places through mobile mammography, the team has also continued to maintain timely access to mammograms at the Mayo Hospital mammography office. The mammography team demonstrates teamwork, respect for one another, and a commitment to ensuring that every patient has the highest quality exam possible.
Jessica Thibodeau, RN, BSN, IBCLC | registered nurse, obstetrics, Guiding the Way Trailblazer Award
Thibodeau provides lactation counseling services to new mothers in the hospital and is a resource to parents in the community who are struggling with or have questions about breastfeeding. She provides non-judgmental guidance and offers information to help them meet their goals. An international board-certified lactation consultant, Thibodeau brings a level of expertise and professionalism that are often not found at small hospitals. Her ambition and desire to learn are two of the many attributes that help her guide new moms and babies towards healthier lives.
Morgan Ward | physical therapy assistant, Seeing the Individual Trailblazer Award
The Mayo Hospital Rehab Department is a busy place, and Ward and her colleagues go above and beyond to meet their patients’ significant needs. Ward demonstrates a positive, “let’s get it done” attitude every day, with every patient. Attentive to each patient’s individual needs, she works hard to ensure that every person who walks through the department’s door receives the best care. She sets a great example for all caregivers to follow.
Nikki Chadwick, RN, MSN, CPHQ | vice president of education and preparedness, Raising Quality Trailblazer Award
Chadwick has endless energy, is a collaborator, and has a record of success that few can match. She has led quality and safety improvement efforts, including the comprehensive unit based safety program, safety surveillance surveys, and emergency preparedness drills. Guided by Chadwick, Mayo Hospital has held three CNA cohorts, an MA cohort, and nursing training programs. When the organization desperately needed medical assistants, Chadwick developed a curriculum on the fly and trained a whole class. She gets results by breaking down silos, maximizing resources, and finding creative ways to get the job done.
Megan Ryder | director of physician practices, Making Access Easy Trailblazer Award
Access to primary care is challenging in most rural areas, including Piscataquis County. Ryder has done an amazing job with improving access to care in Mayo Hospital’s primary care practices. Her passion and commitment to patient access are important reasons why Mayo Hospital has succeeded with retention and recruitment. When Ryder saw a need to improve same-day care, she worked with her teams to launch a county-wide walk-in access service to bridge the gap. Megan is consistently up to the challenge of making healthcare easier for our patients.
Andy Soucier | director, marketing & communications, Shining Star Trailblazer Award
Communication is an important part of everything we do, and Soucier works behind the scenes to help ensure that our employees, patients, and others have the information they need to contribute to a better hospital and healthier community. Through strategic communication support, Soucier works every day to build our brand, promote our services, and highlight the extraordinary people and incredible things happening at our hospital every day.
By virtue of these local recognitions, Mayo Hospital’s True North Trailblazers are nominated for the Northern Light Health statewide True North Awards. The statewide awards will be announced later in January.
