Camden National Bank receives ‘Lender at Work for Maine’ award from FAME for 14th time
The Finance Authority of Maine presented Camden National Bank with the “Lender at Work for Maine” award at its annual Showcase Maine event on Nov. 21. This marks the 14th time Camden National Bank has received this honor, recognizing the Bank’s outstanding commitment to supporting Maine businesses and its workforce.
Over the past year, Camden National Bank partnered with FAME to provide 55 loans totaling over $15 million. This, in turn, helped to create 108 Maine jobs and retain an additional 611 jobs.
“We are a champion for businesses of all sizes while supporting economic vitality; that’s why we’re so honored to receive this recognition for the fourteenth time,” said Barbara Raths, executive vice president of commercial banking at Camden National Bank. “This award is particularly special as we dedicated it to former FAME board member Tim Nightingale, who retired after over 20 years as our commercial banking director and chief credit officer. Tim steadfastly built relationships based on trust and understanding throughout his career, helping ambitions become reality while spearheading our robust credit culture.”
A notable recipient of FAME-backed funding from Camden National Bank involved support for A Couple of Koi, LLC, the operating entity for The Hoot restaurant in Northport. This farm-to-table restaurant sources its produce and meat from local farms. The financing helped to create 12 jobs and retain eight jobs. In addition to being a top partner in stimulating economic development in Maine, Camden National Bank is actively committed to the communities in which it operates. FAME is a quasi-independent state agency whose mission is to enrich business and educational outcomes through relevant, timely financial support to Maine’s people. FAME’s vision is a Maine where all people have access to improved economic outcomes through business growth and education attainment.
