GREENVILLE — There are some people who barely tolerate winter and those who like to play in the snow. For the latter group, check Saturday, Feb. 21 on your calendar for the Moosehead Lake Region Winter Whiteout.
The Friends of Moosehead Lake, Moosehead Riders Snowmobile Club, Moosehead Lake Region Chamber of Commerce and many businesses are joining forces to make it a memorable weekend, and the long-term weather forecast indicates that there will be plenty of snow on the ground as well.
“We are very happy to see so much activity in the region over the February winter vacation week,” said Angela Arno, executive director of the Moosehead Lake Region Chamber of Commerce. “We’re also actively exploring other events to promote the Moosehead Lake region throughout the entire year.”
The festivities start with the annual Moosehead Riders Snowmobile Club Chili and Chowder Cook-Off on Friday, Feb. 20 from 5-7 p.m. at the club house on Scammon Road. Visit the Moosehead Riders Facebook page or contact president John Cobb for details on prices and entry rules.
