Finest Kind Tree Farm to be part of Blaine House celebration

AUGUSTA — The Maine Christmas Tree Association is pleased to announce that it is once again organizing a delivery and presentation of winning Maine-grown and produced Christmas trees and wreaths to the Blaine House on Monday, Dec. 2 from 12-1 p.m. to help kick off the holiday season. Winners of the People’s Choice Award at the 2024 Fryeburg Fair will present their trees and wreaths at the Governor’s mansion, delivered in an antique truck owned by Steve and Debbie McGee, and will be received by Gov. Janet Mills and used to decorate the Blaine House.

Ryan Liberty, board president of MCTA, along with the Fryeburg Fair People’s Choice winners will be attending. The Lacasce family, owners of Finest Kind Tree Farm in Dover-Foxcroft have the first-place tree. The second-place winner of the tree competition was Matt Quinn, owner of Quinn’s Tree Farm in Cornville. Rob and Tammie Mulvey, owners of Pleasant View Tree Farm in Hodgdon, have the runner-up winner. In the wreath competition, Heidi Watson owner of Watson Christmas Tree Farm in Standish won first place, Kelsey Price from Nutkin Knoll Tree Farm in Newburgh won second place, and Raya Marshall of Quinn’s Tree Farm won third place. 

Since 2021 MCTA has delivered Christmas trees and wreaths to Blaine House. Additionally, Mills declared Nov. 24th, 2023 as Maine Grown Christmas Tree Day. Maine Christmas Tree Association is a non-profit organization comprised of family farms that produce real Christmas trees and wreath products for retail, wholesale, mail order, or choose and cut during the Christmas season.
