Hoping to serve with Richard Evans again

To the Editor;

As a fellow legislator who had the honor of serving with Dr. Richard Evans, D-Dover-Foxcroft in the Maine State House, I can confidently say he embodies integrity, courage, and an unwavering commitment to doing what is right. Dr. Evans consistently took hard votes because they were the right ones for Maine, regardless of political convenience. His principled leadership, particularly in advancing healthcare access and affordability, has left an indelible mark on our state.

Evans’ background as a distinguished military veteran and an accomplished surgeon gives him a unique perspective that he brings into the political arena. His work on bills like the “Easy Enrollment Bill” to expand health care coverage and the creation of Maine’s Accidental Overdose Death Review Panel show his relentless drive to improve health care and save lives. He never shies away from the tough issues, standing by his convictions with a sense of duty that is rare in politics.

It would be an honor to work alongside Evans again, this time in the Maine Senate. I wholeheartedly support his candidacy and encourage others to do the same. Maine needs leaders like him.
