Vote for Evans, a proven leader

To the Editor;

Dr. Richard Evans, our candidate for Senate District 4 has proven leadership skills. During his distinguished military career, he reached the rank of Lt. col in the USAF and held various leadership roles including hospital commander. After his military service, Dr. Evans was a well-respected surgeon who chaired various medical associations in Maine and New England.

Witnessing the shortcomings of healthcare in military and civilian settings, he was passionate about advancing health care quality and access in Maine. Dr. Evans’ passion and commitment to this was demonstrated when he was elected to the Maine House from 2020-22. During his term, he sponsored seven bills with six of them becoming law, all of which helped to improve Maine’s Healthcare. His ability to get six of his bills signed into law was because of his remarkable ability to bring opposing parties together.

We need more leaders like Dr. Evans with his record of bipartisanship which will help his constituents. Growing up in poverty, his parents instilled in him the value of hard work, integrity, and education. These values along with his compassion for others have been with Dr. Evans throughout his life. Vote for Evans – a proven leader – on Nov. 5th!
