Dexter girls finish sixth at crossover cross country meet

BANGOR — The Dexter Regional High School girls cross country team finished in sixth place at a Penobscot Valley Conference/Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference crossover cross country meet on Saturday, Sept. 21 at Saxl Park.

The Tigers finished the day with a score of 164 points, ahead of the 169 points for seventh-place Hermon High School and behind the 108 for fifth-place Caribou High School. Eight full teams took part in the girls race.

Dexter freshman Ella McClintock-Hatch led her team by finishing 17th overall among 69 entrants. She covered the 5K course in a time of 23 minutes, 32.60 seconds. Junior Annabelle Peakes placed 24th with her time of 24:25.81.

The other three Tiger runners were senior Lillian Cooley, 42nd at 27:55.03; sophomore Jacee Lounsbury, 50th at 29:37.68; and junior Autumn Picard, 68th at 40:07.03.

Foxcroft Academy sophomore Marion Deitz came in 33rd with her time of 26:17.38.

In the boys’ race, Foxcroft Academy senior Runner Jarrett finished 19th among a field of 92 entrants with his time of 18:39.49.

Pony sophomore Pace Jarrett came in 23rd at 19:16.96. Foxcroft sophomore Ethen Eakright was 67th at 22:59.02.

Dexter sophomores Ian Saunders and Isaac Rounds placed 69th and 73rd with respective times of 23:11.63 and 24:16.17.
