Three area basketball players named as senior all-stars
Casey Jordan selected to academic team
A trio of basketball players from the region have been chosen by the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches to take part in the 2013 Maine McDonald’s Senior All-Star Games on Saturday, March 9 at Husson University in Bangor.
Bell
Three of the 11 players on the Class C/D East girls team are from the region and the trio is Dexter Regional High School’s Jordyn Bell and Lauren Crane and Lexi Larson of Penquis Valley High School.
One of two coaches for the girls C/D East team is Jody Grant of Dexter Regional High School. Penquis Valley High School head coach Tony Hamlin will be on the sideline for the boys C/D East squad.
Crane
The girls C/D game, featuring East against West, will take place at 2:30 p.m. on March 9, while the C/D boys will play at 9:15 a.m. The day will also feature the boys and girls A/B contests, slam dunk, free throw and 3-point competitions and awards presentation.

Larson
The evening before the senior all-star games, an awards ceremony is scheduled to be held at Husson by the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches. In addition to the senior all-stars and free throw region champions, the 2013 All-State Academic Team members will be recognized.
Jordan
The All-State A cademic Teams recognize nine girls and nine boys from across the state for their success in the classroom as well as their contributions to their teams on the basketball court. Dexter Regional High School is represented on both girls and boys teams with Bell receiving the academic honor and Casey Jordan being chosen for the boys team.
