Penobscot Nation representative to speak at UU Church of Sangerville & Dover-Foxcroft

SANGERVILLE — Please join the Unitarian Universalist Church of Sangerville & Dover-Foxcroft in welcoming Maulian (Dana) Bryant as their speaker on Sunday, May 26 at 9:30 a.m.

As both tribal ambassador for the Penobscot Nation and president of the Board of Directors for the Wabanaki Alliance, Bryant represents the Penobscot Nation to all levels of government, shaping, and advocating policies. This talk exemplifies her educational outreach and relationship building throughout her ancestral homeland now called Maine.

Colby College has awarded her an honorary doctorate of law, in  addition to the political science degree she earned from the University of Maine. Bryant is a co-chair of the Permanent Commission on the Status of Racial, Indigenous, and Tribal Populations as well as the Maine  Climate Council Subcommittee on Equity. She sits on many boards of organizations with missions she is passionate about and collaborates with the Upstander Academy.

Bryant loves reading, writing, and walking her Alaskan husky, Olive. She spends her free time with her loving husband Lloyd and their three daughters. Bryant believes in leading with love and  advancing equity by finding shared humanity.
