SeDoMoCha January Student in the Spotlight honorees

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The SeDoMoCha School recognized the January Student in the Spotlight honorees during a Jan. 26 assembly.

Kindergarten through grade 5 were recognized for respect, grade 6 for perseverance, grade 7 for communication, grade 8 for accountability, and middle school unified arts for humor. Many parents, guardians, and other relatives were on hand to see their children/teens accept their award. 

Honorees were kindergarten: Cam Colbry, grade 1: Charlotte Maddocks, grade 2: Finley Taylor, grade 3: Preston Sargent, grade 4: Jace Robinson; elementary unified arts: Mason Frenette, grade 5: Chloe Pratt, grade 6: Sariah Martin, grade 7: Skyler Patrick, grade 8: Jaedon Haack, middle school unified arts: Jack Perry, and grade 4 teacher Karin Trubic.

Principal Adam Gudroe spoke to the audience, congratulating all winners. He also shared, “These four staff members encourage their students to think outside the box, come up with unique ways to solve problems or utilize resources such as technology to help make the learning process more effective and efficient. They strive to find new and different ways to best reach their students and engage them in the learning process. They may ask themselves ‘I wonder what would happen if…’ They may say to their students, ‘Let’s try this a different way’ or they may try several different strategies to see which one works best for a particular situation. 

“The administration team would like to recognize the following four staff members who go above and beyond on a daily basis on creating, imagining and innovating; Kasey Watson, Emily Brown, Carolyn Clark, and Karen Trubic. All four will receive a special parking spot for the next month. Congratulations to this month’s Staff in the Spotlight winner, Mrs. Karin Trubic!”
