YMCA receives $2,500 grant from Rite Aid Foundation

    DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Piscataquis Regional YMCA recently received a generous $2,500 grant from the Rite Aid Foundation. The funds will be used to provide scholarships for area children.

    “The funds will help us serve more kids in our community,” said Deb Boyd, Piscataquis Regional YMCA’s executive director. “We are proud to make all our programs and services available to anyone in our community regardless of their ability to pay. Support like this from the Rite Aid Foundation helps to make that goal a reality.”
    Support from Rite Aid will help families with financial need attend the Y’s childcare programs. This includes Preschool (both half-day and full day), Afterschool, Childwatch, and vacation camps for when school is not in session such as the upcoming Thanksgiving Break Day Camp the week of Nov. 24.
    The Rite Aid Foundation, founded in July 2001, is a not-for-profit foundation dedicated to helping children’s health and well-being. Since its inception, The Rite Aid Foundation has awarded grants totaling more than $17 million to more than 1,300 organizations nationwide.
