Clifton Dudley Eddy

    DOVER-FOXCROFT – Clifton D. Eddy, 85, died peacefully in his sleep, November 5, 2014, at Hibbard Nursing Home, Dover-Foxcroft. He was born June 8, 1929, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Charles and Evelyn (Farr) Eddy. Clifton was employed by Central Maine Power Co. for 35 years, retiring as District Line Foreman of the Belfast District.
    He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lois (Hobart) Eddy of Dover-Foxcroft; three children, George Eddy and his wife, Harriet, of Brownville, Roger Eddy of Standish, and Penny Cote and her husband, Dan, of Chester, Vermont; and two sisters, Dorothy Andrews of Atkinson and Mary Nutting of Dover-Foxcroft. He leaves eight grandchildren, Melissa Gott, Charles Eddy, Beverly Kerr, Sarah Hampson, Seth Cote, Rachel Cote, Allison Parks, and Abigail Morgan; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. He had many cousins whom he thought the world of, especially Jimmy and Laurie Chambers of Dover-Foxcroft, who were always there to help. He will be missed.
    A graveside memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m., November 18, 2014, at East Dover Cemetery, with Pastor Mark Stevens officiating. In lieu of flowers and cards, please make memorial contributions to Pine Tree Hospice, 883 W. Main Street, Dover-Foxcroft 04426.
