Color Milo set for Saturday

    MILO — The Milo Events Committee invites participants to the first Color Milo fun run/walk on Saturday, Oct. 4. Sign-in will be at 9 a.m. on the grounds of Milo Elementary on Belmont Street with the event kicking off at 10 a.m.

    The registration fee includes a gift bag with a white Color Milo T-shirt, route map, Color Milo silicone wrist band, neon sunglasses and an individual packet of colored powder. Face painting will add more color and fun to Color Milo and a gift basket door prize will be awarded to one lucky participant.
    Color Milo is a non-competitive two-mile walk or run and is not timed, but participants may choose to compete among themselves to add to the fun. Signage guides participants to four color stations along the route where they will be doused with powdered color that is non-toxic and bio-degradable, There will be a rest stop at the Milo Boat Landing.
    Clothing will get stained from the color along the route, and there will be a wash station for those wanting to clean up after the event — please bring own towels and changing rooms will not be available. Drinks and light refreshments will be available for participants after the event.

    Color Milo proceeds will benefit the Milo Events Committee. This committee plans various events, such as the Black Fly Festival and Hometown Holidays, and is looking to expand current happenings and also bring in new events.
