Historical society meets Oct. 1

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Enjoy looking at old photos? The Dover-Foxcroft Historical Society will be sharing some very old photos at its next meeting Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Gerrish Room at Thayer Parkway off of Park Street.

In 2013 the society was given a wonderful collection of glass plates, negatives and prints collected through the years by Leon Hall. These were passed down to his son Nathan and then given to the society by Nathan’s wife Elaine. The photos were taken by Harold K. Farnham, George A. Meder and Elmer R. Blethen.
Carlson Williams, a historical society member, spent last winter making prints and he has put together a very interesting presentation for all to enjoy. Society officials invite the public to an evening of memories and viewing pictures, many which have never before been seen by the public. For more information, please call 564-0820.
