Piscataquis LEPC, EMA hazmat exercise announced
MILO — The Piscataquis County Local Emergency Planning Committee in collaboration with the Piscataquis Emergency Management Agency is conducting a full scale hazmat exercise in Milo on Wednesday, Sept. 24 late in the afternoon.
The exercise will be depicting a vehicle hitting a fuel oil delivery truck on outer West Main Street, causing other motor vehicle accidents, multiple severe injuries and fuel leaking on victims and the roadway.
The exercise is being conducted with Mayo Regional Hospital’s decontamination team. Key players will be the Milo Fire Department, Three Rivers Ambulance, Milo Police, Mayo Regional Hospital, Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office, Sebec Fire Department, Mayo Regional Hospital, Maine DEP, the Red Cross, the National Weather Service and A.E. Robinson Oil.
