    BOWERBANK – Marilyn A. Young, 77, passed away September 2, 2014, at her home on Sebec Lake in Bowerbank after a valiant battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her immediate family and her beloved dog, Casey. Marilyn was born September 17, 1936, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Reginald Gray and Vergena Gray Lee. She was a graduate of Foxcroft Academy, Class of 1955.
    She moved to Tolland, CT, in 1958 and spent over thirty years working as a bookkeeper for the Tolland Board of Education. In addition to raising her family for 41 years in Connecticut, she enjoyed her many dogs, gardening, countless crafts, and attending U Conn Husky Women’s basketball games for many years. She loved spending her retirement at their home on the shores of Sebec Lake. Marilyn was an active member of the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church.
    She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Haldon; her son, Gary A. Young and his wife, Jenna; and her daughter, Ann Marie Young Dolph and her husband, Stephen. She leaves four grandchildren, Christopher A. Young and his wife, Melissa; Alan N. Young, Melissa A. Meikle, and Scott L. Meikle and his wife, Cindy; along with four great-grandchildren, Brayden, Aubrianna, McKenna and Kolton Meikle.
    Friends were invited to call 6-8 p.m., Friday, September 5, 2014, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. A funeral service was conducted 11 a.m., Saturday, September 6, at the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church, with Rev. Chad Poland officiating. Burial was in the family lot in the Dover Cemetery.
