‘Adopters’ still needed for Dover-Foxcroft Christmas program

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Adopters are still needed to help provide for families in need in the towns served by RSU 68 (Charleston, Dover-Foxcroft, Monson, and Sebec) through the annual initiative organized by the the Kiwanis Club of Dover-Foxcroft and the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church.

They currently have many more children whose families asked for assistance than people in the community who have offered to provide help.

It doesn’t just take money to make this happen, it takes hands to do the shopping. Kiwanis has the funds to buy all the boots this year, so that is a huge expense “adopters” won’t have to deal with.  We have never, and will never turn anyone away whose kids live in our school district, but we could be cutting it close this year. People can email dfkiwanischarities@gmail.com with the number of kids they would be willing to “adopt.” We will do our best to honor any requests for a specific age group or sex. We need to know by Friday, Nov 18.

If you or your organization can help — please consider becoming an “adopter” To do so, you may email us at dfkiwanischarities@gmail.com with your contact information and the number of children you can “adopt.” Or you may call our Kiwanis phone number at 207-270-0536.

For almost 85 years, the Kiwanis Club of Dover-Foxcroft has been proud to sponsor a variety of programs that benefit the children in our community. Kiwanis Park and Playground, food bags, bike safety rodeo, swimming lessons, Foxcroft Academy Key Club, SeDoMoCha Builders Club, Camp CaPella, and so much more. We Kiwanians enjoy the opportunity to organize and work together with area churches, charitable organizations, businesses, generous individuals, and families to make a difference in the life of our children right here in this area.
