DOVER-FOXCROFT – James E. Shorey Sr., 65, husband of Lisa (Peterson) Shorey, died July 19, 2014, at the VA Hospital in Togus. He was born December 21, 1948, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Merle K. and Lorraine (Kimball) Shorey. He had served with the U.S. Army from 1968-1971 and had worked at Varnum’s Dairy Farm for many years.
    He is survived his wife, Lisa of Sebec; by two sons, James Shorey Jr. and his girlfriend, Laurie of East Dover, and David Peterson of Sebec; a daughter, Beatrice Shaw of Troy; two brothers, Merle L. Shorey and his wife, Margaret of East Dover, and Ronald L. Shorey and his girlfriend, Sigrid of Sangerville; two sisters, Gerri-Lee and her husband, Cedric Campbell Jr. of Hodgdon, and Sally Badger of Milo; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth L. Shorey; and a sister, Lorraine J. Richards.
    A graveside service will be conducted 10 a.m., Friday, July 25, 2014, at the family lot in Lee Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft, with Rev. Chad Poland officiating. After the service, friends and family are invited to share refreshment and memories at James Jr.’s home, 442 East Dover Road, East Dover. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
