Dexter and TCTC students to compete in IT/innovation event
WATERVILLE — The Thomas Cup is a free event for Maine high schoolers in which teams of five students compete in science, technology, engineering, and innovation competitions for the chance to win their names on the Thomas Cup and receive scholarships worth up to $10,000 over four years. Competition areas include cyber defense, esports, computer science, and crime scene analysis. Among the 16 institutions set to take part at the March 18-19 all-nighter will be students from Dexter Regional High School and the Tri-County Technical Center.
Participants arrive at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 18 with a 6:15 p.m. opening ceremony and the competition begins at 7:15 p.m.
Closing ceremonies will be at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 19 — with the winning team announced.
