Hometown hospitals are a gift

To the Editor;

I was recently admitted to Northern Light Mayo Hospital for hip replacement surgery. The care I received from Mayo Orthopedics, Dr. Jacob Brooks, our native son, nursing staff, OR and surgical team, dietary services and housekeeping was wonderful. There was comfort in knowing that my husband and friends were nearby. An unexpected surprise was re-connecting with young adults on staff whom my daughters had grown up with. It was like old home days. Not to mention meeting new folks and sharing some lighter moments.

I asked a lot of questions, prior to my procedure, which were thoroughly answered by medical, safety and financial staff. My follow up care at home by competent CHCS, PT and OT personnel was great. My thanks to everyone who saw me through this experience. I am extraordinarily grateful to have this hospital in my community of caring individuals.
