MOFGA welcomes new Maine Highlands chapter
SANGERVILLE — Folks who live in Piscataquis County and surrounding towns are invited to come to the East Sangerville Grange from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 4 to help celebrate the official start of the Maine Highlands MOFGA chapter.
One of the chapter’s goals is to help make MOFGA resources and educational events more accessible to people living in the Maine Highlands area. Sunday’s gathering will be a chance to meet other farmers, gardeners and growers and to share ideas for future chapter activities.
The event is free and is open to all — you do not have to be a member MOFGA to attend. You also don’t have to be a MOFGA member to join the chapter, all you need is interest.
People are invited to bring snacks to share and seeds (or other gardening items) to swap. For directions to the East Sangerville Grange go to http://www.grange.org/eastsangervilleme177/. You can also call 343-0171 or send an email to esangervillegrange@gmail.com. Don’t try to use your GPS or you’ll end up in the woods.
