Miles not only qualified for the National Academic Squad but was also among 40 Division II student-athletes to be named NFHCA Scholars of Distinction for putting together a cumulative 3.90 GPA through the first semester of the 2013-14 school year.
With 18 of the 30 student-athletes on its roster being honored, St. Michael’s led all Northeast-10 Conference schools while trailing only Slippery Rock (Pa.) University, which totaled 21. The Purple Knights are among 22 programs to draw the team accolade, including one of nine from the Northeast-10.
The National Academic Squad recognizes student-athletes that have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 through the first semester of the 2013-14 academic year, while the team award recognizes programs that achieved a minimum 3.0 GPA during the first semester.
A biology major, Miles is the daughter of Dr. Ronald C. Miles Jr. and Katie B. Miles.
