    PALMYRA – Janice M. Priest, 78, passed away March 11, 2014, at a Pittsfield hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 25, 1935, in Dexter, the second daughter of Edward and Evelyn (Gilbert) Pullyard.
    Janice was a homemaker who loved to ride horses in her younger years, cook, make hooked rugs and quilts, and had farm animals for many years. She painted beautiful pictures, loved to hunt and fish, and always had indoor birds, cats and dogs. She also enjoyed spending time with family at the family camp on Echo Lake in Dexter.
    After her father passed away in 1974, her mother moved in with her until her death in 2009, and then Janice moved in with her daughter, Heidi, where she lived until her death.
    She is survived by her children, Heidi and husband, Terry Stafford, Rocky and wife, Darlene Rockwell, and Russell and wife, Angela Rockwell; nine grandchildren: Heather Stafford, Shane and wife, Paula Stafford, Tabitha Rockwell, Sara Moore, Rocky Rockwell, Daniel Rockwell, Shandi and husband, Skyler, Gilbert, Adrienne Rockwell, and Brittany and husband, Jo Perkins; ten great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn Stafford, Shane Alfred Stafford, Nikki Fillmore, Gabe Fillmore, Ava Rockwell, Zaine Gilbert, Bryson Gilbert, Mekhai Gilbert, Dahlia Stone and Kiara Moore; two sisters, Joyce Larrabee and Sandra Crocker. She will be missed by her African Grey Parrot “Daisy” and her stray cat “Blackie”.
    Graveside committal services will be held 10 a.m, Friday, May 9, at the Pullyard family lot, Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. In lieu of flowers, she requested that memorial donations be made to a Humane Society of one’s choice. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
