Former GHS standout Breton is now a top UMaine student-athlete

    ORONO — University of Maine women’s soccer sophomore Gretel Breton, of Greenville, was one of the league-record 660 fall athletes named to the America East Honor Roll. Breton was also one of 352  American East athletes earning Commissioner’s Honor Roll designation for attaining a GPA of 3.5 or above. The Black Bear women’s soccer team tied the field hockey squad from Fairfield (Conn.) University for most players honored by placing the entire team on the America East Honor Roll.

    As a freshman in 2011, Breton also was named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll. She is a chemical engineering major, graduate of Greenville High School and is the daughter of Melanie and Paul Breton.
