Pleasant River Bridge construction slated for the fall

    MILO — The town of Milo was recently notified the Maine Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be placing structural steel reinforcing under the decking of the Pleasant River bridge to preserve the existing life of the structure, starting right after Labor Day with an eight-week construction period.

    The MDOT has committed to maintaining a 10-foot wide maintenance of way for alternating traffic flow. During several short periods when the bridge will need to be closed entirely, work will be done at night between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. with warning signs placed at least 72 hours ahead of time.
    An estimated eight to 10 of these sessions will be needed. The contractor will set  up a detour using the Lakeview, Stanchfield Ridge and Stickney Hill roads.
