Pine Tree Hospice pet loss workshop

DOVER-FOXCROFT — An anticipatory pet loss workshop will take place on Saturday, March 8 from 1-3 p.m. in the Sebec/Borestone rooms at Mayo Regional Hospital’s Resource Center.
This afternoon session will cover information about how to prepare for the death of a pet, comfort measures, when to decide it’s time to say goodbye, what euthanasia is and “aftercare” options such as burial, cremation, memorials, etc. There will be an opportunity to share photos and stories and to discuss the grieving process.

Planned presentations include a discussion with local veterinarian Ron Miles, DMV from Foxcroft Veterinary Services and his wife Tina Miles, DVM, from Penobscot Veterinarian Services, explaining the medical side of caring for an ailing pet. Don Hanson, the owner of Green Acres Kennel, will discuss the more personal side of losing a loved pet.
Pre-registration is appreciated for this free program, which is proudly sponsored by Foxcroft Veterinary Services, P.A. Please call Pine Tree Hospice at 564-4346 or email wecare@pinetreehospice.org for more information or to register.
