Dexter

Council meets Thursday with three new members

Staff Report

DEXTER — The Dexter Town Council will meet Thursday, Jan. 9 at 7 p.m., as three new members will be sworn into office: Ron Apel, Sharon Grant and Mark Robichaud. All three were elected in November in their first run for public office.

Four appointments are on the agenda, as councilors fill the position of alternate plumbing inspector, two positions on the Dexter Utility District and one opening on the Human Resources/CDBG Committee.
Two resolutions to be discussed are the town’s solid waste management, introduced by Grant; and the municipal office hours, introduced by Apel.
There are also proposed ordinances to be discussed dealing with the Dexter Municipal Golf Course Board of Directors, cemetery rates, fund transfers for the cemetery sexton and the animal control account and compensation for the council.
A few members noted at the November meeting that the $200 per year annual salary for councilors hasn’t been adjusted in several years.
