Pearsall serves as a captain for Bates

    LEWISTON — Graham Pearsall, a resident of Guilford and 2009 graduate of Foxcroft Academy, was a tri-captain for the Bates College cross country team in 2012.

    At the NESCAC Championship in Brunswick Pearsall covered the 8,000-meter course in 26 minutes, 2.4 seconds to place 51st out of a field of 124. The Bobcats were fourth out of 11 schools in the team standings.

    Pearsall helped Bates finish second out of 43 teams — the Bobcats’ 54 points trailed only the 44 for Amherst (Mass.) College — at the ECAC Div. III Championship in Williamstown, Mass. He was eighth out of 287 runners, and second on his team, with a time of 26:58. By placing in the top 14 at the meet Pearsall, along with a trio of teammates, earned All-ECAC honors.
