Pony track results

    ORONO — The Foxcroft Academy indoor track and field teams were in action at an Eastern Maine Indoor Track League meet on Jan. 26 at the University of Maine, the next to last regular season meet of the 2012-13 season.

    The Pony boys scored 60 points to finish fourth out of seven teams, in large part to five first-place finishes between senior Donald Boyer and junior Ryan Wang. Boyer had the meet’s fastest time in the 55 hurdles at 7.95 seconds, and he won both the long and triple jumps at 19 feet, 7 inches and 41-00.50 respectively.

    Wang came in first in both the 55 and 400, winning in 6.88 seconds and 52.93 seconds respectively. Wang also came in fifth in the 200 at 24.62 seconds.

    Foxcroft’s 4×880 relay placed fourth as sophomores Julian Zepeda and Noah Simpson and freshmen Abraham Simpson and James Smith combined for a time of 10:12.85. The Pony 4×220 relay — comprised of seniors Jacob LaBree, Josh Bombero, Alex Stevens and Jasper Thompson — came in fifth at 1:43.06. Senior Cody Levensalor also scored for Foxcroft as he was sixth in the shot put at 40-02.75.

    The Pony girls ended up fifth out of seven schools with a score of 25 points. Sophomore Fern Morrison had 10 of the points with her first-place run in the 800, winning the event in 2:32.57.

    Junior Leah Word finished third in the shot put at 25-04.50 and fourth in the mile was junior Liza Grigoryeva with a time of 6:33.61.

    She ran the second leg of the fifth-place 4×220 relay team, joining senior Angie Chen, junior Kate Sukhanova and senior Lydia Zepeda for a time of 2:14.20. Junior Mia Smith finished fifth in the pole vault with a height of 7-00 and she was also sixth in the triple jump at 28-05.50.
