    NORTHEAST HARBOR – Gloria L. Munson, 85, wife of the late Harold “Barney” Munson, died December 24, 2013, at a Bar Harbor nursing home. She was born July 18, 1928, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of John W. Jr. and Gladys (Peirce) Leland. Gloria was an exceptional executive secretary who thoroughly enjoyed her work. She was extremely artistic and creative, a great crafter, and a wonderful cook.
    She is survived by a daughter, Joelle Nolan and husband, Jim, of Northeast Harbor; a step-daughter, Terry Golan of Freeport; a stepson, James Munson and wife, Lori, of Wiscasset; a sister-in-law, Marion Munson of Presque Isle; six grandchildren, Emily Damon and husband, Michael Dong, Travis Munson, Letitia Munson, Amy Brewer and husband, David, Rachel Putnam and husband, Jason, Robert Nolan and fiancé, Ellen Strout, and Carrie Nolan and partner, Matthew Fronczak; and nine great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her feline friend, Nikki. Gloria was predeceased by two sons, Jonathan Brown and Jay P. Brown.
    A graveside funeral service will be held at the family lot in Knowlton Mills Cemetery, Sangerville, in the spring. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Mt.
