Piscataquis Regional YMCA announces New Year’s Challenge

    DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Piscataquis Regional YMCA is hosting a New Year’s Challenge and encourages friends, family and co-workers who want to lose weight to form teams.
    Kristy Rizzitello, who is coordinating the challenge at the Y, said she is excited about the program, “The prizes are big, but the results for the people participating will be even bigger,” Rizzitello said. 

    Teams participating in the challenge must have at least three members with one designated as team captain. Team members do not need to be members of the PRYMCA, but will need to come to the Y to weigh in each week.
    The challenge starts Jan. 6 and ends the week of March 24. The winning team will be determined by the percentage of weight lost by the entire team. The winners will get a fabulous prize with weekly “biggest losers” winning prizes from the Y’s nutrition partners: Will’s Shop n’ Save, Shaw’s and Save-A-Lot of Dover Foxcroft.
    The real prize for the challenge is the time spent investing in health which earns rewards all year long.  The entry fee for the New Years Challenge in $50 per team. Stop by the Y to sign up or call 564-7111.  Participants can also sign up for one-hour group training sessions for only $20 per person.
