HONORING ALIZA — After learning that Aliza Stutzman, an eighth-grader from Harmony, lost her battle with cancer on the morning of Jan. 23, the Foxcroft Academy wrestling team paid tribute by wearing Stutzman’s name on their shoes during a match that evening in Howland.

The team honored Aliza Stutzman, an eighth-grader from Harmony who tragically lost her battle with cancer Wednesday morning, by wearing her name on their shoes. “We found out the terrible news Wednesday morning,” said coach Luis Ayala, whose team has played an active role in fundraising efforts to help Stutzman’s family with medical costs, “and the team quickly decided that they wanted to do something to honor Aliza’s life.”

At Ellsworth on Jan. 21, the Ponies defeated Ellsworth 48-24 and rolled over Washington Academy (70-6) and Woodland (71-6).

Foxcroft got pins from Black, Brooks Law, Forrest Law, Todd Francis, Luke Olson, Alex Sedore and Atkinson, technical falls from Tino Ayala and Gaige Pleninger, and point victories from Eli Olson and Corbyn Bruce.
